Collie dogs – the compassionate dogs

If you are looking for a sporting dog and one that has good hunting and guarding skills yet can be extremely compassion with its owner, then you would want to consider getting a Collie dog.

These clever dogs are small in size but they are extremely active little buddies that you would never get enough of. More than that the Collie Dog is known for its agility.

If one were to take a trip down memory lane to find out the origin of the Coolie Dog, your search would not yield too much information if any at all.
Dog owners suspect though that Coolies may be have been descendants of the wild dog.

There is also another theory out there that subscribes to the fact that Coolies are close relatives to the Scotch Coolie, the latter dogs that were used for herding purposes.
Coolies are said to be well trained dogs. Mostly used at dog shows, Coolies always excel at their game.

The height of a collie could be anywhere between 22ins to 24 inches in the shoulder area while its female counterpart measures at 20 – 22 inches. This measurement makes them medium sized dogs.

Coolie dog owners would tell you that this dog is not only intelligent but they have strong, friendly personalities which makes owners feel comfortable to have them around their kids.

Another plus about owning a Coolie Dog is that they seldom experience health problems except for the ones with the white heads who have trouble hearing and seeing.
Some of the characteristics of Coolie Dogs include the few unusual patches that are about their body. Most of these dogs are black and white in color because of he spots on their skin.
Most of these Coolies although intelligent, can take a little while before your method of training sinks in.
